A Lifelong Sussex Liberal

I have lived in Sussex for most of my life. I grew up in Haywards Heath and went to local schools before going to university in Oxford. I lived in London for ten years before returning to Sussex in 2010. I was Mid Sussex District Councillor for Hassocks from 2019-23, working in particular on issues of planning and environment. I now live in Ditchling with my wife and three children.

I have been a senior leader in the charity sector. I have a PhD in the social science of nature conservation from Sussex University, and work for a large conservation charity. I worked for 15 years in the humanitarian sector, in countries including Myanmar, Haiti and the occupied Palestinian territories.
